Senior SRE / Platform Engineer (Multi-Cloud & AI-Driven)
Future Opportunity

At Aequilibrium, we build digital products that are ahead of the curve. To support our elite development teams, we are seeking a Senior SRE / Platform Engineer who views infrastructure as software and leverages the latest in AI-driven automation to maintain world-class reliability. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who thrives on complexity across multiple cloud ecosystems.

The Role

You will work closely with our Senior Full Stack Developers to architect, deploy, and scale innovative applications for global brands in gaming, entertainment, and finance. You aren't just a "cloud admin"—you are a Platform Engineer dedicated to developer experience (DevEx), multi-cloud resilience, and the integration of Generative AI into the operational lifecycle.

What you will be doing:

  • Multi-Cloud Orchestration: Design and manage high-availability infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring seamless cross-cloud connectivity and disaster recovery.
  • Platform Engineering: Build and maintain internal developer platforms (IDP) that empower developers to self-serve infrastructure while maintaining governance.
  • AI-Augmented Operations: Integrate AI tools (GitHub Copilot for CLI, AI-driven observability, and automated incident summarization) to accelerate troubleshooting and reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Standardize environment provisioning using Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane across diverse cloud providers.
  • Advanced CI/CD: Architect sophisticated pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, incorporating automated security scanning (SAST/DAST) and "canary" deployment strategies.
  • Observability & SRE: Implement "Golden Signals" monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic. Lead post-incident reviews to drive systemic improvements.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement Zero Trust architecture, manage secrets (HashiCorp Vault/Azure Key Vault), and ensure compliance in highly regulated environments (Fintech/Public Sector).
Must Have:
  • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Multi-Cloud Mastery: Deep, hands-on expertise in at least two of the "Big Three" (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Container Excellence: Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE) and OpenShift. You should be comfortable managing clusters, service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), and ingress controllers.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for building custom automation tooling and operators.
  • IaC Expert: Advanced experience with Terraform (including module development) and/or Cloud-native tools (CloudFormation, Bicep).
  • AI Integration: Proven ability to use Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or specialized AI agents) to optimize infrastructure code, debug complex logs, and automate documentation.
  • CI/CD Architect: Experience building end-to-end pipelines that support polyglot applications (Java, .NET, Node.js).
  • Security Mindset: Strong understanding of cloud security (IAM, VPC Peering, Private Links) and vulnerability management.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Status: Canadian resident with Citizenship or PR Status.
Nice to Have:
  • Data & Search: Experience managing containerized Apache Solr or Elasticsearch at scale.
  • Fintech/Enterprise: Experience in highly regulated environments (Banking, Credit Unions, or Public Sector).
  • FinOps: Experience in infrastructure cost optimization and cloud spend management.
