This group also includes Efficacy and Research, as well as Analytics Engineering. We’re a small team with big ambitions and access to some of the richest educational data in the world. We leverage this data to gain a deeper understanding of our users, their usage of our products, the impact of product use on learning, and how we can better support their educational journeys.<br><br>We’re looking for an experienced, people-focused leader who can drive transformative change by generating impactful insights and nurturing a data-informed culture across Khan Academy. You’ll combine deep analytics expertise with a passion for mentorship and team leadership to elevate our decision-making and product effectiveness.<br><br>Khan Academy has recently launched several new educational products through high-profile partnerships. These initiatives have the potential to transform education globally, and their success depends on our ability to understand what works, for whom, and where we can improve. This role will be critical in realizing that vision.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Lead the Analytics Team<br><br></strong></p><ul><li>Lead and coach a team focused on exceptional fundamental product and KPI reporting for various cross-functional teams, including: Product, Philanthropy, District Success, and International.</li><li>Step in, as needed, to support team members navigating complex projects or challenging stakeholder prioritization.</li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement within the Analytics team.</li><li>Review code to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability across analytics outputs.</li><li>Provide coaching and professional development opportunities, including mentoring on soft skills, access to formal training programs, and peer learning initiatives to help Analysts expand their technical expertise, as well as their leadership.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Cultivate a Data-Informed Culture<br><br></strong><ul><li>Promote thoughtful, insight-driven decision-making throughout the organization.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to drive strategic prioritization, including setting goals, aligning on timelines, and making resource allocation decisions for Analytics work across the organization to maximize impact and alignment with company goals.</li><li>Drive a data self-service culture by ensuring cross-functional stakeholders have easy-to-use, reliable dashboards.</li><li>Develop engaging ways to communicate key performance metrics, such as through dashboards, internal reports, or monthly business review presentations with internal teams.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Support Strategic Initiatives<br><br></strong><ul><li>Partner with the Sr. Director of the Data Insights Group to ensure strong Analytics representation in the evaluation and prioritization of strategic initiatives.</li><li>Conduct ad hoc analyses for strategic projects as needed, often in collaboration with senior leadership to address questions about product performance, user behavior, or organizational impact.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Bring<br><br></strong><ul><li>8+ years of experience in Product Analytics, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of experience leading and managing an Analytics team with 4+ members.</li><li>Experience developing data models and dashboards using BI tools (Looker preferred).</li><li>Comfort working across the full analytics lifecycle—from measurement plan to instrumentation to data storytelling.</li><li>Advanced SQL skills, with a strong foundation in descriptive and inferential statistics.</li><li>Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks</li><li>Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and visual formats, with a track record of effective collaboration across Engineering, Product, Philanthropy, Content, and Senior Leadership teams.</li><li>Motivated by the Khan Academy mission “to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere.\"</li><li>Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Perks And Benefits<br><br></strong>We may be a non-profit, but we reward our talented team extremely well! The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
