Production Manager – Food Industry – Co. Armagh


Our client is a well-established and growing food manufacturing company based in Co. Armagh. They are seeking to appoint a Production Manager with a strong passion for Lean Manufacturing to lead and optimise their production operations. This could suit a supervisor / shift lead who has the aptitude and desire to progress.


Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing all production activities to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve managing production schedules, driving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.


The Production Manager will play a key role in embedding Lean Manufacturing principles across the site, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and developing high-performing teams. You will work closely with quality, technical, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.


Applicants should ideally have:

  • Exposure to production management within food manufacturing
  • You need to demonstrate ‘gravitas’, an ability to gain respect and impart knowledge and best values (safety, accountability and ownership, respect and to be the best).
  • Knowledge of, or a keen interest in, Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Experience working within food safety and quality standards such as HACCP, BRC or ISO standards
  • People management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
     Excellent leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills
