Our client base includes broadcast, film and other engineering groups that use our platform. This role will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of workflow engineers, helping prioritize work, guide technical direction, support team development, and ensure the group is aligned with business priorities and platform strategy. The Manager of Post Workflow will serve as the primary owner for the overall health, direction, and delivery of assigned platform initiatives, ensuring there is clear accountability, timely follow-through, and appropriate escalation when issues arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Broadcast and Film post production workflows and will help evaluate all requests while identifying potential optimizations in new and existing processes to enable automation. Candidate must also have a strong technical understanding of tools like Avid, Adobe, Telestream and other commonly used applications in this space.<br><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:<br><br></strong></p><ul><li>Work with clients to help find and define features for our internal automation platform</li><li>Manage, mentor, and support a team of workflow engineers responsible for designing, enhancing, and supporting post production automation workflows</li><li>Own end-to-end accountability for assignments and projects, ensuring issues are driven to resolution, risks are communicated clearly, and final outcomes meet business, operational, and technical expectations</li><li>Provide technical leadership, guidance, and prioritization for the team to ensure workflow initiatives are delivered efficiently and aligned with operational needs</li><li>Coordinate team workload, project assignments, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, product, vendor, and client stakeholder groups</li><li>Develop team capabilities by encouraging knowledge sharing, documenting best practices, and helping workflow engineers grow their technical and operational expertise</li><li>Work with vendors to add features to their product to integrate with our automation platform based on business needs</li><li>Work closely with other workflow and engineering teams to gather requirements to enhance or create new workflows or feature requests</li><li>Support escalation of workflow issues<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:<br><br></strong></p><ul><li>6+ years experience in Post Production Engineering, preferably involved in automation</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field</li><li>Experience managing and mentoring individual contributors</li><li>Experience in post production tools such as Avid Media Composer and the Adobe Suite, in particular with importing and exporting of media files. </li><li>Knowledge of file formats and containers for all use cases (screening to broadcast)</li><li>Knowledge of post production online storage such as Avid Nexis and Qumulo</li><li>Experience with working with clients to gather project requirements</li><li>Experience with understanding third-party and internal REST APIs</li><li>Experience in third-party post production automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage</li><li>Understanding of video archive solutions, such as Telestream Diva</li><li>Experience in low-latency baseband video Streaming technology (SRT, 2110)</li><li>Experience in file acceleration solutions such as Signiant</li></ul><p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<br><br></strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of cloud automation tools, using both Microsoft Azure and AWS</li><li>Proficient in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements: <br><br></strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Fully Remote:</strong> This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence. <br><br></p></li></ul><p>This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
