The Janitor and Groundskeeper position is responsible for performing all-purpose work and preservation of assigned area inside multiple areas and buildings.  Exact tasks of janitorial and groundskeeping crew are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties per client's specifications.

DePaul Universal is hiring for Temporary Groundskeeper

Wage is $20.90 / hour

Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:00pm

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Other duties may be assigned:

  • Outside rounds: remove and replace garbage liners, sweep all entrances for cigarettes and any excessive leaves from building entrances, dusting flat surfaces, pick up all large items of trash, remove any snow/ice, apply Ice Melt, pull weeds as seen while performing rounds, operating snow equipment Bobcat and or truck with plow, top dressing campus, watering plant materials.
  • Special collection rounds and assistance for the special events
  • Building rounds: reset any displaced furniture, empty and clean all waste container, police for loose trash on all floors/hallways, remove any standing water as needed, clean tabletops and countertops, glass cleaning, dusting flat surfaces, washroom check, refill paper and hand soap product, clean mirrors and bowls, dust mop, vacuum carpeted areas
  • Report any encountered problems such as light out, elevator down, broken fixtures, graffiti, fan/wet floor sign placement on wet/snow days.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or experience required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Must be able to follow written and oral directions
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a janitorial type position.

  • IL Sick days: 1 hour per 40 hours worked, up to an annual maximum of 40 hours
