Focus Media UK is the UK arm of an established, publicly listed international media group operating large-scale indoor digital screen networks.

As part of an international organisation, the UK team works closely with global colleagues to align campaign standards, content strategy and operational processes.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on HR Generalist to support the growth of our UK business during an early-stage expansion.

This is a broad and practical role covering recruitment, employee lifecycle management and HR operations. You will work closely with the leadership team to build and implement the core HR foundations of the company in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment across key functions including business development, operations and installation
  • Coordinate end-to-end hiring processes:
  • job postings, screening, interview coordination and offer management
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth employee experience
  • Prepare and manage employment contracts and employee documentation
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and internal policies
  • Liaise with payroll providers, pension providers and external HR partners
  • Support the setup and optimisation of HR processes, including:
  • onboarding workflows
  • leave and attendance processes
  • basic performance tracking
  • internal documentation and policies
  • Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries and basic employee relations matters
Who This Role Suits This role is ideal for someone who:
  • 3–6 years HR experience, ideally in a generalist role
  • Strong recruitment experience (in-house or agency background)
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR compliance basics
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Practical, solution-oriented mindset with strong execution ability
Mandarin language capability is strongly preferred due to collaboration with international teams. Experience in a startup or early-stage business is advantageous.
