<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>HYBRID - 3 days onsite<br><br>Forward Deployed Engineering Director (Global) Hybrid - Santa Clara, CA<br><br>About the Role This role combines technical leadership, consulting, and customer engagement to scale a high-impact Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) function globally.<br><br>You'll lead and grow a team of FDEs who partner with enterprise customers to solve complex hiring and upskilling challenges through scalable, skills-based solutions.<br><br>As a Manager of Forward Deployed Engineering, you'll set the strategy, standards, and execution bar for the team.<br><br>You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to design and deliver solutions that are both technically robust and highly impactful.<br><br>This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll actively engage in architecture, integrations, and customer-facing delivery while building repeatable systems that scale.<br><br>What You'll Do<br><br>Lead, coach, and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers supporting customer engagements across pre- and post-sales.<br><br>Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to design solutions that address real customer needs.<br><br>Provide hands-on technical leadership across APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.<br><br>Elevate how demos, proofs of concept, and onsite engagements are executed across the team.<br><br>Build and implement scalable playbooks, delivery standards, and best practices.<br><br>Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate customer needs into roadmap priorities.<br><br>Partner with regional leaders (EMEA and APAC) to ensure alignment and consistency across global teams.<br><br>Who You Are<br><br>A seasoned technical leader with 8+ years of experience in engineering, solutions engineering, or technical delivery, and 2+ years managing high-performing technical teams.<br><br>Hands-on and highly engaged, comfortable reviewing designs, challenging assumptions, and stepping in on complex or high-stakes problems.<br><br>Experienced in leading customer-facing technical teams where success depends on credibility, clarity, and execution.<br><br>Fluent across technical and business contexts, able to engage deeply with engineers while aligning with business stakeholders.<br><br>A strong communicator and presenter who can effectively tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences. Even Better If You Have<br><br>Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consultant.<br><br>Background in developer tools, HR tech, or API-first SaaS platforms.<br><br>Experience working in globally distributed or matrixed organizations.<br><br>You'll Thrive in This Role If<br><br>You enjoy building teams, systems, and processes from the ground up.<br><br>You are energized by ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced environments.<br><br>You set and uphold high standards of ownership, execution, and quality.<br><br><strong>Compensation<br><br></strong>Base salary range: $250k-$350k<br><br>Target bonus: 15% annually based on individual and company performance.<br><br>This range does not include equity (stock options) or additional benefits for which you may be eligible.<br><br>Final offer may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
