Position Overview We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Data Entry Specialist to join our laboratory operations team on the overnight shift. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working from our Hicksville, NY facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills, a high degree of attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for accurately entering patient, client, billing, and test information into our Laboratory Information System. The precision of your work is critical, as the data you enter directly impacts other laboratory operations, including specimen processing, test results reporting, and ultimately, patient care decisions. Key Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities as an Overnight Data Entry Specialist will include: Accurate Data Entry: Enter patient, client, billing, and test information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) with precision and attention to detail. Ensure all data is correctly formatted and meets quality standards. Quality Assurance: Review entered information for accuracy and completeness. Identify and correct any discrepancies to maintain data integrity throughout the laboratory workflow. HIPAA Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and arenaflex Compliance standards at all times. Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive health information. Communication: Answer and direct incoming client calls professionally and efficiently. Provide excellent customer service to healthcare providers, physicians, and other clients. Cross-Training in Accessioning: Cross train in accessioning responsibilities, which includes accurately identifying specimens by patient name and specimen type, sorting specimens, and labeling them correctly for testing. Workflow Support: Assist in maintaining smooth laboratory operations by ensuring data entry tasks are completed in a timely manner, supporting the overall efficiency of the laboratory team. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to team goals through collaborative problem-solving.
