Assists in implementing manpower, systems, and corporate projects to reduce operating expenses, increase revenues, and improve customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in developing and implementing operating plans, conducting studies, preparing data, and developing models and analytical tools for engineers and operations.
  • Assisting in transforming business processes and operational tools to enable global excellence.
  • Preparing short and long-range plans, expansion, regulatory, and manpower needs.
  • Gathering, organizing, and ensuring the accuracy of data for operating plans and engineering analysis.
  • Working with management to ensure suppliers and hired professional services comply with policies, procedures, and governing authorities.
  • Ensuring all documentation complies with FedEx requirements and processes.
  • Assisting in improving productivity, service, and cost performance in operations.
  • Supporting special study teams established to investigate and implement projects related to productivity and performance.
  • Assisting in engineering projects and studies at the direction of engineering management.
  • Conducting research, evaluation, and recommendations of emerging technologies, business techniques, philosophies, and methodologies.
  • Assisting in activities related to projects and studies in support. Assisting with project plans, communication plans, and project status to stakeholders.
  • Planning and organizing task assignments, priorities, schedules, and activities for initiatives as required by the size, complexity, and urgency.
  • Assisting with requirement specifications, solution design, system development and testing, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting in studies designed to implement sound, innovative engineering concepts into operations, systems, and customer solutions to produce benefits for the company and its customer
  • Assisting in the evaluation of capital and expense planning.
  • Providing input for annual and long-range budget processes, project and/or operational budgets based on recommendations for cost savings.
  • Assisting in the collection, analysis, and reporting of financial and operational indicators for corporate or department initiatives.
  • Assisting with the preparation of business justifications in support of the funding approval process.
  • Providing support for technical training to personnel through workshops, seminars, on-the-job training sessions, and one-on-one sessions in areas such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
  • Establishing communications between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise related to corporate or department initiatives and operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in industrial engineering or a related field required.

Strong analytical skills

Strong systems and computer skills

Ability to communicate at all levels required

Knowledge to develop models and tools

Ability to create short and long term plans, including operational plans

Ability to work with large amounts of data and cleanse for accurate analysis

Pay: (FEC_E22) to (FEC_E26) $4,756.40/mo - $12,440.61/mo

Additional Details: The desired location for this position would be Chicago, IL. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week
