JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is looking for an Associate Editor, Gambling and Research to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Associate Editor, Gambling and Research will support a team of editors and writers while collaborating with social, video screening and talent production team to cover the entire sports gambling world with written content, video, quantitative and qualitative insights and more. The role will utilize analytics, research and other data to shape the editorial strategy for FOX Sports Gambling. This individual will be responsible for informing the future of FOX Sports’ gambling vertical, requiring a future-driven perspective on product innovation and how editorial content must adapt to the needs of the sports-wagering fan.

This role has expanded beyond the day-to-day of editorial content related to gambling. This is an essential position that is at the center of all discussions related to all gambling partnerships for our company. With that, this process requires countless meetings with internal and external partners to vet out and determine what the best path forward is for our business from a gambling perspective. This role is interactive with leadership at a very high level.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inform and support FOX Sports Gambling’s editorial calendar and content budget, planning for upcoming events, major milestones and content themes
  • Display outstanding news judgment, skilled storytelling ability, expertise in sports gambling, thorough knowledge of digital best practices (including SEO, social platforms and content sharing), and a strong knowledge of journalistic principles and methods
  • Work in concert with editorial staff and show production teams
  • Work directly with gambling talent to evolve content across all digital platforms from written to video
  • Manage analytics and reporting
  • Content creation, ideation and editing
  • Partner with internal FOX business units to meet and vet potential gambling partners that are best suited for the growth of the business
  • Partner with product team to deliver the best user experience across website and app through content and product functionality, with specific emphasis on gambling content and Super 6
    • Act as a product manager, playing a critical role in the development and growth of the FOX Sports App to ensure ongoing improvement and success in the market
    • Communicate on feature changes and enhancements to align with business priorities
    • Collaborate with product to develop and maintain the product road map for the FOX Sports App
    • Manage stakeholder priorities across various departments to deliver best consumer experience
    • Analyze KPIs to assess the success of the product
    • Communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on product

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of experience in production and digital media
  • Knowledge/experience in television and broadcasting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, leadership skills and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-83,500.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
