*While this role is remote it does require a few days of travel per month to either Louisville Kentucky, or Nashville Tennessee, or Philadelphia PA. (company will cover expenses for travel)

Our rapidly expanding wholesale company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our company's financial growth and success. As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial operations, including month-end close, intercompany transactions, inventory accounting, and fixed assets. If you are a hands-on professional who is ready to roll up your sleeves and dive deep into the financial operations of a thriving business, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, and check runs.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable financial rules and regulations.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate activities of external auditors.
• Provide recommendations to improve systems and financial performance.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate with international branches to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and manage financial systems and policies.
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
• Review the performance of competitors and report on key issues to management.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience with NetSuite is a must (ideally experience implementing NetSuite)
• Experience with intercompany transactions required
• Experience with Inventory Accounting highly preferred
• International accounting experience is a plus
• FloQast software experience is a plus.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• Experience in intercompany transactions, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.
• International accounting experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user administration skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
• Proven ability to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on in a high growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
